I can't believe it's been more than 6 months since I last updated Jethro's blog. We had a busy Summer with Granma Romay & Uncle Roman visiting, attending Layla & Gian-Luca's wedding in Italy, spending a week at Centre Parcs & me becoming pregnant and being so sick & listless for the first couple of weeks I had no energy for anything!

Jethro has become a bright, sweet 2 and a half year old. He is saying a lot now, knows all his colours, & knows exactly what he wants and doesn't want. He started play school at Splash & Dash at the end of September & is absolutely loving it, he has become a lot more confident. His key worker, who he likes very much, is Jackie. When I drop him off there he does try to delay me saying goodbye by asking me to read story, after story, after story :) He sings "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" to the end. We absolutely love our little boy who is soon to become a big brother! XXX

Approaching 2, Jethro recognises the colours orange, white, purple and blue. Everyting else is blue (boo).

Uncle Maurice paid us a short visit.

We had a little birthday party for Jethro & we made him a VW Beetle cake which turned out really well. We were panicking the night before because the icing looked shocking pink, but once on the cake it was red. I must say that it looked like the Texas Chainsaw Massacre with all the kids running around with red mouths!

22 Months!

Jethro is starting to recognise some letters - "D" for Dog; "E" for elephant; "J" for Jethro; "O" and "M". He says "See-Saw" for seahorse and so refers to tomato sauce as "tato see-saw", I guess seahorse sounds similar to sauce! He is also starting to take an interest in colours, although everything at the moment is "boo" or blue to you and me. Jethro also likes to line up his cars next to each other. He has found his singing voice but gets shy when he notices that I'm listening to him sing :)

21 Months!

Jethro is getting more and more energetic, a real boisterous boy! He loves bouncing on the bed and climbing the furniture. He chooses to climb the big slide now at the park instead of the baby one. He has taken an interest in numbers and attempts to count ("three, three, three"). His favourite dishes are Chicken, Peach & Pasta; Fish fingers and Chips; Salmon Rissoles, sweetcorn and mushrooms and all fruit but still dislikes banana. He says "excuse me" even to inanimate objects and gets frustrated if they don't miraculously move out the way. He is getting on well with my mindee Sophie and looks out for her by giving her her cup for a drink and asking for snacks for her when I give them to him first. Very sweet to see. Every old lady we see Jethro says "Vovo" which is granma in Portuguese.

20 months old...

Mommy has become a childminder and now I stay at home with mommy instead of going to one myself. I love having mommy around, so much so that I don't want to share her or any of my things with the little girl who mommy looks after 3 days a week. Everytime she comes near mommy or my things I shout "No!"

Jethro picked this magazine off the shelf all by himself and enjoyed paging through it. He loves anything with wheels and helmets. His favourite toys are still his trike, drill and now little matchbox cars.
