19 months...

December and our dear friends the Aylwards paid us a visit en route to SA. Jethro was in immediate awe of Owen who was bigger than him and had a different accent to him. From that day Jethro started saying "Yeah" and hasn't stopped since, we say "Ja" but Jethro still says "Yeah" :).

Christmas time - Jethro was really spoilt this Christmas with presents from everybody near and far, his particular favourites were the trike, Black & Decker drill and Rocket! He had so many that we had to stagger the opening of them over a few days, the excitement was just too much for him.

One of Jethro's favourite words at the moment is "Oopsy"

18 months old and Nutella...

Mommy gave me Nutella on toast, it was yummy and fun licking it off the toast...

17 Months...

My feet can touch the ground now and I love this bike!

Naartjie please

Jethro pointed at a naartjie today so I gave it to him thinking that he would just play with it. Instead he bit pieces off & proceeded to suck all the juice out, there was nothing left of it in the end. I guess some primate instincts never fade :)

My first haircut...

Mom and dad got tired of people in SA saying "What a lovely little girl!" to me they decided I needed a haircut. Angelo at George and Manuel used to cut my great-grandfather's (Brancato) hair, both my grandfather's hair, my daddy's hair and he gave me my first haircut! That's 4 generations of haircutting!! Mommy says I got a whole lot cheekier with my new hair style :)

16 Months!

At 16 months Jethro's vocabulary is coming on nicely, he can say cheese, juice, more, ball, out, up, stop, that, what's that?, meeaow, dog, woof. He shakes his head no and anything that's round be it peas or the moon, is a ball! We also went to SA for a few weeks to attend Greig & Liga's wedding, and of course we had a lovely time visiting family.

15 months

14 months - We have a walker!!

Jethro finally started walking 2 days short of 14 months, he was just as excited as us, taking every step with glee! We took Jethro on a picnic, there were some kids kicking a ball around & Jethro thought he'd walk the distance & take them his ball, not looking back once! He enjoys throwing the ball & even moves it with his feet as if to kick it, do we have a future football player on our hands? He is also enjoying his books more & more & often brings a book to us to read to him. He likes dancing (i.e. moving quicker than normal) to music. He also likes having us put some socks &/or shoes on him.

13 Months!

At 13 months Jethro’s movements have become more toddler like, although he’s still not walking, he stands on his own, takes 2 or 3 shuffled steps into our arms & walks when we hold one of his hands. He still babbles on endlessly, points at everything with a questioning “Huh?” & seems to like mimicking our onomatopoeia e.g. doof; ha, ha, ha etc. He’s learned how to make the kiss sound & blows kisses (without the blowing part). He likes studying things & figuring out how they work, he loves playing with dad’s tools & can now open caps to creams etc. so these are now kept well out of his reach if it can be helped. His favourite foods are lasagne, cottage pie, sweet corn, all fruit (even sour naartjies) & cheese! He’s still very affectionate, even all his soft toys get cuddles & coos.

A box is more fun than the actual present!

Jethro has mastered the art of wagging his finger & saying "Na,na, na," like I do to him when he touches something he’s not supposed to. He wanders off around the house on all fours getting up to mischief. He loves screwing bottle tops on and off & this will keep him entertained for moments on end.

1 YEAR OLD!!!

Our darling boy celebrated his birthday at Snakes & Ladders Playpark with a few of his friends. The big party for a few of our friends will come when the decking is finished...
